The Last Night is a collection of wonderful photos taken by the esteemed Grand Prix photographer Ercole Columbo, who over the course of 600 races, has provided us with a peep into the story of Ayrton Senna, from early Formula 3, to cult F1 status.

The book covers the most important moments in Sennas life, wins, defeats, friendships, family, rivalries and relationships. We all know the ending but its not often that we get a glimpse into the vulnerable and emotional side of Ayrton which is captured here so nicely.

In some ways this is as much an insight into Senna as it is Ercole who grew up close to the Monza circuit, and was fortunate to present at some of the most memorable moments in motorsport.

“Telling the story of Ayrton Senna is not easy” is the beginning sentence of this book, and yet in 150 pages of images, Ercole Colombo has just about shattered that myth.
