This beautifully presented film made way back in 1962 by British Pathé shows exactly how they created and made the famous Matchbox cars in the 1960’s. Producing over one million cars per week, we see how the cars are designed and the tooling made from wood moulds and steel dies. It looks extremely basic by today’s manufacturing processes, and so many ‘real’ people involved with the process. Hand painted and hand finished and then boxed (in matchboxes) these would all be amazingly collectable now. Keep your eyes peeled!
