300SL Roadster 1962

Quick hurry! For one day only, Mercedes-Benz are having a stock clearance sale. Prices start from $28,000 to $2,900,000. Terms and conditions apply. Visit your local Bonhams Auction for more details.

Lets face it, this auction of Mercedes-Benz museum stock is going to be a darn site more interesting than pressing refresh on ebay motors. Our personal favorites include:

Lot 122 – 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren ‘Stirling Moss’  – Guide Price $2.3 – $2.7m

One of only 75 made, its 5.5-litre, 24-valve, supercharged V8 producing 617bhp, makes it one of the most powerful engines ever found in a series-produced road-going sports car. As Car & Driver magazine observed: ‘This lends mind-boggling elasticity to the SLR, with passing performance that has to be felt to be appreciated.’

Stirling Moss SLR

Perfect for the British weather

Lot 144 – 1961 Mercedes-Benz  300 SL Roadster – Guide Price $1.4m – $1.7m
We could wax lyrical about the comprehensive service history and craftsmanship of the engine overhaul, but the real reason this is in our personal favorites is because we defy anyone to sit in this car and not look fucking cool.
