Nine days in Summer is Ford’s story of the Lotus 49 Formula 1 car. The technology and engineering that went into making it such an important car in motor sport history and the now legendary team behind the chassis and engine; Colin Chapman, Mike Costin, Keith Duckworth (later to become ‘Cosworth’) and Ford.

This is the story of how the project changed the face of Formula 1 and automotive design forever by integrating the chassis and the engine together. The opening scene is shot in Ford’s and design and engineering department in Essex, is an historic meeting between Chapman, Duckworth and the Ford Directors.
