This is the pretty spectacular Red Bull Frozen Rush where off-road trucks race head to head on snow and ice. Think Race of Champions but without the track and bridges and on slippery white stuff!

This video is the extended footage of the 2014 event held in the Sunday River Resort in Maine where eight professional Pro4 trucks race head to head to crown the overall Red Bull Frozen Rush champion. Reaching speeds of 100 mph over some immense terrain and jumps and bouncing off everything in between makes this something of bad ass motorsport spectacle.

I predict a big future for racing like this, especially with ‘frenemies’ like Ricky Johnson and Johnny Greaves dropping public quotes like “Johnny, my ass is here, come kick it!” – Not the kind of thing you would hear from the mouth of Fernando Alonso or Dario Franchitti now is it?
