This Fall sees the opening of the long anticipated F1 film ‘Rush’. Director Ron Howard was really open with pics and updates on the set of the movie on twitter last year, and has been seen at many of the recent F1 races promoting the film.

Following on from the amazing success of the F1 based movie ‘Senna’ in 2010, Rush tells the true story of the on track rivalry between two Formula 1 greats; Brit James Hunt and Austrian Niki Lauda.

The film is set in 1976 the year James Hunt won the Formula One world championship and Niki Lauda suffered a horrific crash badly burning his head and hands and cheating death by only a whisker. Niki can still be seen on the F1 paddock as Non-executive Chariman of the Mercedes F1 team, but sadly Hunt the Shunt is no longer with us. He is still considered by many, especially currently Lotus F1 driver Kimi Raikkonenas a true hero and someone that brought a little glamour, fun and somewhat of a playboy lifestyle to the paddock.

The film is in movie theatres from 09.20.13. Visit the official movie website here.
