Being part of the ‘Scene’ is what Australian based photographer Simon Davidson is all about. From sped trials in the Salt Flats in Bonneville, USA to Lake Gairdner in South Australia, Simon has been there in the right place at the right time over the past 10 years to capture some the most emotive and captivating photography that we have seen for a long time.
Being a Custom 1961 General Motors Utility and now a 1964 Ford Coupe owner himself, has allowed Simon to intimately understand what makes the men that drive these vehicles tick. It has also allowed him to understand every single inch of the subjects that feature in his work, be it man or machine.
Being a trusted part of this world of speed trials and smoke covered burnout competitions has allowed Simon Davidson to capture the stunning portraits that form a huge part of his collection. Subjects are relaxed when he is around and happily allow the camera into their lives.
