These Wooden Snowshoes (Bearpaw) made from ash wood have been designed and made to effortless and silently float across soft powdery snow.
Each pair is custom made in Michigan by Iverson Seek Wilderness and takes 4-5 weeks to deliver from the date of order and are safe for use up to 200lbs (90kg), so even the biggest of us chaps should be good to slip a pair on. Prices start at $330 for a set of shoes and bindings together.
Snowshoes work by distributing your weight over a large surface area allowing you to walk or operate in wooded areas and brush. I used a pair of snowshoes once a few years back when ascending a mountain in Europe for some off-piste snowboarding and boy did they make a difference.
