1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray

There are very few automobiles that exude the sex appeal of the 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray ‘Fuel-Injected’ Split-Window Coupe. This was the first model with a 4-wheel independent suspension and the first ever mass produced coupe, immediately recognizable with the split rear window. This was the only year that the split-window option was included in the Sting Ray, even though the basic design would still be manufactured until 1967.

Motor Trends says that this model corners better than any other previous design. Inspired by the high style vehicles of 1960’s Europe combined with the brawn of American classics of the time, the 1963 Sting Ray is perhaps the most admired model of Corvette ever built, and it’s certainly my favorite!

Four different 327 V8 engines were made available for this model with up to 360 horsepower, providing the sports car with a Zero to 60 mph speed in just under 60 seconds.  Even by today’s standards, that is pretty impressive.

This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray ‘Fuel-Injected’ Split-Window Coupe is being auctioned this month comes with all original parts or original replacements, including a complete drivetrain, T-3 headlights, and steel wheels.  Even the wiper blades and arms, hubcaps, and valve stems are either original or date coded, making this Split-Window Corvette Sting Ray a rarity among collectors.
