Goodwood Festival of Speed 2013
This year sees the 20th anniversary of the Legendary Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK. The Festival of speed is the largest motoring gathering in the world, a unique event that sees the likes of F1, MotoGP, Indycar, Touring Cars, WRC and just about everyone who is anyone when it comes to the automotive world and motorsport.
Held over the weekend of July 11- 14 in the grounds at the glorious Goodwood Estate in West Sussex, England and run each year by The Earl of March a lifelong motorsport fanatic, the 20th anniversary event will recapture everything that has happened over the last 20 years at Goodwood.
This year also happens to be the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 which the Goodwood Festival of speed will be honoring in style with a 911 inspired sculpture (known as the central feature) and a whole bunch of famous ‘hill climbs’ featuring 911s from a range of generations.
F1 teams now confirmed at for the weekend are : McLaren, Ferrari, Red Bull, Mercedes, Lotus, Caterham and Marussia. With drivers like Goodwood regular and favorite Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton and recent Monaco Grand Prix winner Nico Rosberg.
