McLaren 650S

You wait 20 years for another McLaren as groundbreaking as the legendary F1 and then two come along at once. It seems that the motoring press has been talking about nothing else other than the McLaren P1 lately (including kingoffuel.com) and then all of a sudden as if by magic they roll out the brand new McLaren 650S.

McLaren tell us that the 650S now sits mid range in between the 12C and the aforementioned P1. The vitals are pretty breath taking with 650PS, 0-62mph in 3.0 secs (which is basically about the same 0-60 as a Honda 1000 RR Fireblade) and with a top speed of 207 mph.

Signature McLaren features such as the carbon fiber MonoCell form the core of the 650S ensuring it’s stiff, strong, safe as houses, light as a feather and therefore pant wettingly fast. With settings such as “Track” and “Normal” I somehow get the impression that this will be anything but normal regardless of what setting you choose. A 3.8 liter, twin turbocharged powertrain and a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox with near instantaneous gear shifts offer thrills and spills with the shift paddle or smooth as silk comfort with automatic mode.
