Janus Motorcycles - Halcyon 50

I heard about this awesome motorcycle company Janus Motorcycles based out of Goshen Indiana a few weeks back, and was instantly captivated by their range of bikes. Janus Motorcycles is an American designer and manufacturer of hand-made, small-displacement bikes that harken back to iconic eras of motorcycling history with the Halcyon 50 is their flagship model.

The simple design of the Halcyon 50 is actually chock full of all of the necessary essentials while still being perfectly lightweight for responsive handling and easy maneuverability. It’s equipped with a 6-speed, water-cooled engine that is surprisingly powerful, making it perfect for both inner short trips when weaving through traffic and for those short excursions into the countryside. It’s a great city bike too with perfect scale and dexterity for an urban commuter.

The Halcyon 50 comes with a standard black frame with 4 color choices of the powder coated aluminum tanks and fenders. The hand-made leather seat comes in black, tan or burgundy, and all bikes come with hydraulic forks and hand pin striping details, which will vary in color depending on the base color that you choose for the tank. The 2-stroke single, case inducted engine reaches a standard top stock speed of 55 MPH with remarkably quick acceleration, especially for a bike with such a compact design.

A carefully tuned expansion chamber exhaust system comes in powder coated black or stainless steel with the upgrade option. Other upgrades include deluxe tanks of a highly polished finish and leather side saddle bags.

This is basically one very affordable bike that gives a lot of bang for your buck, whilst being about as head turning as motorcycles get these days!
